“From the Darkness to the Light” is the experience in many lives transformed by God’s intervention, causing them to begin “Changing Tracks.” Although they come from different backgrounds and their conversions have taken place among differing circumstances, they all give thanks to Jesus Christ for having come to find them. They thank Him for having given meaning to their lives, for curing their deep wounds, for giving them happiness and for filling them with love. Come on board this train and let yourself be guided by their stories so that you can also begin “Changing Tracks.”
This week Faith Tomaszycki gets on our train. She is from the US and was born into a Catholic family where they tried to instill Christian values, yet she never came to make them her own. When she entered her adolescent years, she began to fall into the world of impurity. She tried to fight, but the temptations surpassed her and her life became more complicated. A point came in which her parents gave her the alternative to either change her way of life or leave the house. She chose to leave home, and shortly afterwards discovered that she was pregnant. When she saw the positive sign on the pregnancy test, she understood that her life had to change. Her parents' help during those moments became a revelation of God's mercy, above all, when she began to discover the double life her son's father was leading.
Brian Shields from Jacksonville, Florida gets on the train this week. He was born in a Catholic family and had an experience with God, yet his bad friendships led him away from Him because they started to get into trouble. His uncle encouraged him to look for an agent to direct his talent as an actor. After doing several commercials, including appearances with Tom Hanks and Michael Jordan, he was on his way to playing the protagonist's role of a program called "Dawson's Creek." Right before this took place, the Lord burst into his life and changing it 100% in an experience he calls "an electric shock from God." Here he tells us how the Lord saved him from accepting roles in immoral programs and how he now uses his talents for Catholic movies and to go as far as becoming a producer himself for "Lumen Entertainment" for kids.
Leslie Harvey is from Florida, USA. She was baptized and raised protestant. She had no contact with the Catholic Faith until her adolescence when she went to a Catholic high school. Thanks to the help of her religion teacher, who was able to understand her, she felt that the Holy Spirit was showing her more and more clearly that the Catholic Church was the true Church. After she became Catholic, a new battle began: How could she truly live out her Faith and educate her children in the Faith being married to a non-Catholic? Leslie tells us that the key to knowing what God wants of us is found in the Gospel and in the Church.
Brother Isaiah Hofmann was born in California and baptized in the Episcopalian Church. His entire family converted to Catholicism when he was a boy.
He later discovered he was made for great things and found his vocation. He is now a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and dedicates his life to the poor and to evangelization.
This is the story of Ann, a generous and courageous American wife and mother. She tells us about the inferno she lived as a young woman on account of her husband's alcoholism, which she discovered shortly after their marriage, as well as the abuse she later suffered. This situation eventually led her to even contemplate murdering him at a certain point. That was when she discovered God's love and the truth about the Catholic faith. Listen to this impressive testimony in her own words.
Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, up until now we have been able to continue our evangelization through the media. The needs, however, are growing and many times there are unexpected expenses due to maintenance, the purchasing of new machines, etc.
